Seasons greetings from the Purple Void!
Let's start the holidays right with a Sea of Stars update!
To celebrate the traditional Terran solstice festival, Digital Eel is proud to announce a great new update for Infinite Space III: Sea of Stars!
The new version 1.1.0 introduces totally re-vamped mod support with a handy browser for launching mods, and now lets mod makers access the built-in editing tools that we used to make content for the game.
We have also added new content to the game in the form of a new special quest featuring a special guest, the notorious Tiberian swamp pirate Arch Fenster! Oh, and just possibly a ship from that other space roguelike-like game created by one of our Kickstarter backers may make an appearance!*
For all of our Steam fans, this update just keeps on giving by adding over fifty achievements, as well as Steam trading cards, badges (not steenking), profile backgrounds and emoticons!
Sea of Stars will be updated to the new version on Friday (today), December 18. Get it from STEAM, IndieGameStand (DRM-free) or the Humble Store (Steam or DRM-free). Non-DRM users may download a v1.1.0 Windows patch HERE.
May the Star-Krampus be gentle!

In 1999, before Digital Eel existed, we began to create Infinite Space, a 4X space game that was ultimately never completed but its universe inspired a different approach...
Today, Digital Eel is happy to announce that the full version of Infinite Space III: Sea of Stars for Mac and Windows will be released on Steam (here) and IndieGameStand (here - DRM-free) on October 29, 2015.

We have some groovy news! Data Jammers: FastForward is now available for Macs at IndieGameStand, and, on top of that, it's on sale for 99 cents--Wow! (Note: the sale ends Sunday)
Don't know about Jammers? Here's the scoop.
Data Jammers: FastForward is a continuously moving three dimensional driving and destruction game set within a retro wireframe world of impossible race tracks. Think Tron meets Hot Wheels with bombs and road monsters!
Data Jammers: FastForward is reminiscent of all that is good in the world. Or at least some of the things that are good in the world, like Tempest and speeding through cyberspace.

Despite the (futile) efforts by the NSA to cover it up Data Jammers: FastForward is now jamming on the Mac!
Yep, it's true! Thanks to Henry K's efforts beyond the call of duty, Jammers is finally available for Mac gamers via Steam (with other groovy game portals to follow - watch the skies). So let's get jammin'!
A casual game with fangs.

The Digital Eel guys have done it again: another outrageously retro, tongue-in-cheek, weirdly beautiful, and very inexpensive video game. As if Brainpipe weren't enough, now it's Data Jammers: Fast Forward. What Atari might have produced if they had had a sense of humor and a better CPU. I don't normally flack video games, but these guys' imagination and polish consistently impresses me -- and there's only three of them.

The colourful, vibrant wireframes, and hypnotic collage of abstract 3-D models screaming past at a million miles per hour is very satisfying on an aesthetic level. If ever there were calls for examples of videogames to be considered as legitimate art, Digital Eel's creations would be amongst the first I'd proffer.
- Steve Blanch, Bytten
What makes the game a real pleasure, however, are the two things as which Digital Eel always excels; the use of code to produce trippy graphics, and the excellence of the music. Playing Data Jammers is like being at a rave, with glowing Tron-like visuals and a danceable techno score; indeed, weaving and gyrating through the game feels a lot like dance as well.

Hello, starship captains! Today's update brings two big changes: Loadout Options and Ship Hull Upgrades.
The first allows you access to any ship systems and weapon technology that is considered "off the shelf" at your location. At nearly any home world that offers trade, you can click on a system or weapon slot on your ship and see what loadout options are available. The selection depends on the world, and changes over time as each race develops new technology. You may need to sell an item or a few to earn credit before you can take advantage of this. (Tip: if you haven't found any better drives after a while, check back at Hope!)
Ship hulls can be upgraded at the ship's origin world - Hope for Terran ships, Loryx for the Zorg, and so on. Simply go to the home world and select your ship to see if upgrades are available. Larger ships like frigates and destroyers become available as time passes - as well as new "advanced" versions of Terran military ships with additional rear-firing weapon mounts. These upgrades are also paid for by store credit, so bring something to trade!
